The North Carolina Bar Association's Center for Practice Management (CPM) is the starting point for NCBA members seeking information about technology, practice management, and law firm start up. CPM provides resources to help NCBA member attorneys, paralegals and legal administrators improve efficiency, reduce risk and improve client relations in their law firms.
* Lawyer Referral Service
Expand your practice with prescreened clients from the NCBA Lawyer Referral Service. Each year, LRS provides nearly 60,000 referrals to people needing North Carolina attorneys. ABA Retirement Funds offers tax-qualified retirement plan services to qualified law professionals. This includes full service, cost effective retirement plans such as 401k and profit sharing. Corresponding services include plan design, administration, and fiduciary oversight. Program eligibility is open to any law firm or practitioner that has at least one partner or shareholder who is a member of the ABA, or a state or local bar association represented in the ABA's House of Delegates.

The North Carolina Bar Association Health Benefit Trust was established to maintain an alternative for law firms to the small group health insurance marketplace. More than 8,200 lawyers, their staff and families pool health benefit contributions to cover health care expenses. The Plans' rates are determined by the experience of the whole group, and the Trust obtains reinsurance for especially large claims. Costs are competitive, and in many cases significantly less, than for similar small group health coverage.
